Fintechs Canada welcomes Mogo, Carta, and Moka as its newest members

Fintechs Canada is thrilled to announce that Mogo, Carta, and Moka have joined the association.

“Mogo and their growing corporate family are among the top digital challengers Canada has to offer,” said Laurence Cooke, the chairperson of Fintechs Canada’s board. “Their innovative mission to help Canadians manage their money better raises the bar for all Canadian fintechs and banks. This embodies what our association is all about, and so we’re thankful for the opportunity to join forces and help Canadians reach their best together.”

Mogo, Carta, and Moka join the association at a good time, as Fintechs Canada continues the push for modernized financial sector regulation to promote the best possible future for fintech in Canada.

“We’re pleased to join Fintechs Canada to support their important efforts to champion innovation and foster competition in the Canadian payments space,” said Alice Davidson, Chief Legal Officer of Mogo. “Mogo is focused on building a comprehensive digital wallet solution to address the evolving needs and demands of Canadian consumers, while also powering next-generation card programs from innovative fintech companies through our Carta subsidiary. We look forward to being a part of this important dialogue and the long overdue evolution of Canada’s payment system.”

Established in May 2019 as a not-for-profit member association, Fintechs Canada is the harmonized voice for technology companies that hold and move money operating in Canada.

Fintechs Canada’s membership is growing and diverse, inclusive of consumer-facing financial technology companies, business-to-business payment processors, payment network operators, and financial institutions, among others.
